Dolphin Pool

Thursday, 9th November 2006 by Alex

Take your pick from either a pool of dolphins or a dolphin-shaped pool.

The image of dolphins in a pool was captured from Google Earth, where you can also clearly make out a crowd gathered round a dolphin at the side of the pool, possibly being fed by a keeper.

If you prefer your dolphin in the wild, then perhaps Australia would be a better bet?

d’you know Patrick, I actually think they *look* sad, even from all the way up here.

The dolphin in the pool in Vegas, was misidentified before as a “Shark in Las Vegas Swimming Pool”.
They even mentioned this “shark” on the Dutch TV in a news report on Google Earth (together with the notorious topless lady). Clearly they didn’t really check this “shark”, but just copied the spectacular headline.

Since no one’s mentioned it yet, this is the Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage. More information:

It’s “Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden & Dolfin Habitat”, apparently. Guess they wanted a break form the tigers or something?

Funny thing: I stayed in the mirage once, but before this dolphin stuff was finished. They have a ‘volcano’ out front, but when this was taken, it wasn’t erupting apparently (does so every 15 minutes I seem to remember).

The dolphin shaped pool is at located at a camping site called El Delfin Verde in Spain in Torrealle de Montgri. Not too far from Barcalona. It’s funny ’cause we have been there this summer enjoying our holiday and now I find this!!
