Google Sightseeing takes you on tour of the world as seen from satellite, using the free Google Earth program, or Google Maps in your web browser. Each weekday your guides James and Alex present new weird and wonderful sights as suggested by readers.
Continuing last week’s post about inventive use of space in Japan, today’s feature is Toyosaki, a 160 hectare area built on reclaimed land.
The development is just outside Tomigusuku City, and due to its proximity to Naha Airport they’ve made use of the advertising opportunity with some very neat large type that says something along the lines of “For Rent – Project Toyosaki under development”.

Those prices are relitively cheap from what I expected, a little under $2000US for 3.3 square meters/35 square feet, seeing as land is scarce on an island. Not to mention the over population of japan. I mean hell here in California, near my house, you have plots of land not all that large going for $300,000US+. In hawaii its way worse, my grandma’s house is like a 3/4 a million and its literally a shack on a tiny sliver of land.
