We love aircraft noise
Thursday, 9th August 2007 by James Turnbull
Following on from a post earlier this week, where a man was confusing aeroplane passengers flying over his home, today we're in Belgium where a farming company have also been plagued by landing planes.
Situated only 2Km from the main runway of nearby Antwerp International Airport, the farm must have low-flying passenger planes pass over every few minutes.
However, rather than complaining about the noise, they claim to love aircraft noise! They even painted it on the roof, just in case you didn't believe them.
Unless there's a hint of sarcasm in the message...

Lost in translation. Was supposed to be ‘loathe’
I love aircraft noise! I lived under a flightpath in Sydney for 2 years and the entire house would shake when the jumbos came in to land. It was one of the best places I ever lived.
And no, I am not being sarcastic.
Ahh, memories…I grew up about 7 miles from a major international airport, long before noise abatement rules. I can still hear the roar of the thrust reversers mixing with the thunder from the drag strip two miles away (Saturday! Sunday! Funny Cars!). So now, I live at the intersection of two major surface streets, and my wife wonders why the noise doesn’t bother me…
I prefer aircraft noise to redneck truck noise. I’ve gotten to where I can tell which helicopter from which hospital is flying over my apartment just from the sound. That’s about the only air traffic I ever hear. The best sounding plane, in my opinion, would have to be the P-51. Hear for yourself…
Aircraft noise, train noise, canal boat noise, at least they’re intermittent; road noise goes on forever
