Caught Picking up a Hooker?
On first glance it looks like the guy driving this www.rentandrent.it van on the outskirts of Rome has been caught red handed by the Google Street View camera, whilst engaged in the process of attempting to procure the services of a prostitute.
On closer examination however - it seems like a strange place to be trawling for sex. And what is the woman doing exactly? And what are the things at her feet? Bottles perhaps, but what for?
So Italians, is this a well known pick up spot? Or is there something more pedestrian going on?

If you go back down the road there’s a similarly attired lady.
And further more it would seem to be pretty famous for it…if I understand this video correctly.

Yes, Salaria Street is a very famous hooker street
But this photo has been taken before the new mayor has taken the decision to apply zero tolerance to hookers and hooker’s clients.
Now all the hookers seem to be in near towns…

If you go back up the road (northwards) there is another lady - on the corner of Via Bolognola. However as you go past her she disappears from one shot altogether but if you swing round she can be seen in the bushes apparently changing her clothes - and then reappears in he original clothes in the next shot! Is it possible the Google car went past once -photographed her and then returned at a later time to photograph the same place but without her in it?

So funny. I found myself going up and down the road looking for other “entrepreneurs”… I then see from here that maybe the camera car was doing the same as it obviously almost caused an accident!
You’d think these gals would have picked a slightly less dangerous stretch of road… After all, how fast can they run in those 6″ heels?

@cookie monster: That’s exactly what happened, but not the reason. The shot where she’s missing is the one where they turned on or off the side road. For some reason they decided to keep continuity with the side road and replace the shot off the main road.
I think you are catching two crimes here: the hooker and someone dumping things on the side of the street.
Check this guy out, I think he swung off the road to take a quick tinkle.

I saw the pink skirt lady and went up and down the main road trying to figure out what was going on. I thought about the side street thing, but the weather looks the same on all the main road pictures (cloudy and looks like its going to rain) but on the side road pictures it it bright, sunny with blue skies. It does seem like a image was replaced here, though because the silver car is behind the google car before the side street and after the side street, but its not in the picture at the side street.

If you change to the other side of the road you can see 4 ladies at this side street and a pick-up taking place.
